Lasik technique is the most common method of excimer laser treatment. During this process, a thin layer is lifted from the front section of the cornea with the aid of a device called a microkeratome, laser treatment is then applied to the underlying tissue. The laser treatment shapes the cornea to correct vision. The layer which has been lifted, sticks back in place all by itself. The process takes a total of 10 minutes for both eyes.
